Pembury 9 vs 0 Southborough

Three wins on the spin now and 21 goals scored in the process has helped to improve moral and to be fair we've been playing good football so it was only a matter of time before it all came together. Southborough didn't have the best preparation as two of their players turned up just as we were about to kick off.

The pitch had received a deluge of rain over night and an already heavy pitch became that little bit more heavy! That said we still tried to do the right thing and play the ball around building from the back and playing through the midfield.

It took about 15 minutes for us to score our first goal but some neat play down the left involving Charlie, Ollie and Danny resulted in a cross to the far post which Al tucked away from close range. We continued to press and Southborough enjoyed some success on the counter attack but some good defending and a lack of support nullified most of their attacks.

Sam, Tom, Charlie and Joe all played really well in defence throughout the game and gave us a solid base to attack from. Ollie and Woody ran the midfield getting the ball back and playing it wide to Danny and Rob who both enjoyed success down the flanks delivering dangerous balls into the area that resulted in another 3 goals before half time.

The second half continue in much the same manner and we scored a further 5 unanswered goals and to be honest it could have been a few more if we hadn't tried to over play sometimes.

But I can't complain at the lads for enjoying themselves and what we've learnt over the last 4 games in particular is that if we put the effort in we earn the right to play and play good football we do. Well done to Yaccine who scored a hat-trick - just as well as he didn't score one in last weeks 9 goals!
