Very few positives to report from this game. We turned up with a very capable 11 but ended up on the end of a very disappointing scoreline.

We started quite well and nearly took the lead when Liam ran through from a mistake by their centre half but unfortunately could not slide it past the onrushing keeper.

Unfortunately though after defending well for the first 25 minutes we conceded 2 goals in quick succession and never really recovered from this with another 2 goals being scored in the last 5minutes of the half due to 2 errors by myself.

The second half was much of the same, we managed to keep them out for long periods but then they scored 3 in what seemed like a matter of minutes, which can only be put down to us not responding to the goals being conceded anywhere near quick enough.

10 minutes from the end Liam was fouled in the box and cleanly despatched the penalty to at least give us a consolation goal to make it 7-1 but they still had time to score an 8th near the final whistle.

The negatives from the game for me was for the first time since I have been playing we started to get jippy with each other, a few niggly comments here and there that as far as I am concerned has no place on the football field.

I have no problem with voiced opinions in fact from now I am actively encouraging it, but I don't want to hear little petty arguments because someone didn't pass or shanked a clearance, etc.

The positives I can take from the game is that I think we have officially had enough of losing and with the cups out the way we can concentrate purely on racking up some points on the board to allow us to start playing with more belief and freedom than we have been able to all season.
