Paddock Wood United Res 1 v Pembury Res 3

For yet another week we fielded a different starting line up, but confidence is high within the squad of players that have been assembled.

We started well but caught on the break a couple of times calling upon Steve Mac to make a couple of excellent saves. Chances came and went but our pressure started to tell and from a corner Dave Hymers rose highest and scored a well deserved goal. We pushed on from here creating more and more chances but the ball just wouldn't fall. One of the better halves of football we had played this season.

The second half started with us on the front foot again and if we had scored early it would have been a comfortable morning at the office, as it was at 1 - 0 they were always in with a shout. Barry came to the rescue after 15 minutes to smash a lovely ball not just into the net but almost through it and off to the hop farm.

At 2 - 0 it was game over but we continues to play well and soon after a good move Alan Evans scored to make it 3 - 0. With a couple of minutes remaining the ref felt sorry for them and gave them a penalty that wasn't. Final score 1 - 3. A good result that keeps us up there, well done lads.
