Despite turning up with no equipment apart from the kit, confidence was high after last weeks win. We started brightly and played some good football. Barry and Jason were finding a lot of space and we were hitting feet with early balls.
We created countless chances and to be honest were just far to good for them, it then came as no surprise when on 20 mins we took the lead from a good Barry Leete, Joe Cambell scored his first of the season with a well directed finish from inside the box.
Minutes later from another good Barry corner, Craig Davies drew 2 defenders from the front post for me to tuck away our second through a crowd of players. As the half went on we created more and more chances and got caught off side more and more times, but unfortunately we could not go on and get the couple more goals that we deserved. The second half was shocking and possibly one of the worst halves of football I can remember for a long time.
We sank to their level, and a mistake gifted them a goal to bring the score back to 1 - 2 and at this point they looked the most likely to score again. Matt Rice-Tucker and Dave Hymers came on and with five mins to go I settled the nerves and scored my second of the game. A win they say is a win but we must improve.
