A real game of two halves as could be expected on that awful pitch. Having talked about getting off to a good start we once again conceded an early goal, which was the last start we wanted playing down the hill first. We soon started to find a bit of space, worked really hard for each other and got into a good habits. Ollie was showing us all what a good player he is and Luke Hattle was having a really impressive debut for the team.
It was with little surprise that we soon equalised from a good ball over the top for Ollie to finish calmly, we were well on top at this point and created a number of good opportunities. Tim Marshal then stepped up to smash an unstoppable shot from outside the box into the top corner, more chances came and went and we took a deserved lead into half time.
After the break we fell apart, with a lack of belief, desire or quality to be seen anywhere we were soon a on the back foot. The ref did not help us by giving a farcical penalty, which they missed, but we were soon behind with a well hit shot, and later we were undone by careless marking.
They had a player sent off which galvanised us and we had a good goal disallowed late on, but it was all to little to late.
