Pembury'A' v 4 Tornados 0

Our last home game of the season, played in mid-summer like conditions, resulted in a comfortable win, following a competent performance.

The loss of Sargey to the Reserves meant that Knighty had to move into the back four & with Lewis starting upfront, the side had an unfamiliar look, but after a slowish start we were soon into our stride.

The first goal came via a snap shot from Nat that caught their 'keeper out at his near post to give us a deserved lead.

An even better left-footed strike from Jim(his first for the club), fired across the 'keeper & into the coner of the net, doubled the lead & put us in a commanding position at half-time.

Second half substitutes Richard & Rishi were quickly up to the pace of the game & combined superbly for the best goal of the game.

Richard picked the ball up in mid-field & passed accurately to Rishi, who used his strength to hold the ball up & then released an excellent back heel into Richard's path as he continued his run into their box.

He finished expertly with the outside of his right foot to put us three up.

Jamie got a just reward for his industry & committment with the fourth & final goal.

There were plenty of further opportunities to add to our tally as the opposition tired, but none were accepted.

Our last game is away to the Division Five champions & with tough games being played by both our First & Reserve teams, players are likely to be needed to help out elsewhere.

This will be a good test of how far the squad has progressed & a good performance could see us finish in a deserved third place.
