Pembury Reserves 0 v Hadlow Harrow 2

Following the excellent performance in our last game, hopes were high that we could get a result today against a side we had already beaten twice this season. What followed was a pretty dull and lack lustre game of football. I hope that this comes through in what I believe is probably the dullest match report I’ve sent in this season!

Throughout the first half we coped well defensively, but appeared to lack any real desire or conviction when attacking. We nearly scored when Luke Smith was on the end of our best move, but under pressure from the advancing keeper, put his shot just wide of the post.

The second half followed the same pattern as the first. After twenty minutes Hadlow took the lead when a mis-hit cross went in off the far post. The second followed shortly after when we defended a corner poorly. Our best chance of the half came when a shot from Iggy was blocked.

Fortunately for us all the other teams at the bottom lost as well.
