Pembury Res 10 V Dormanslands Rockets Res 1

At first glance it would seem that the score-line spoke for itself, however, there were two very different halves. The management switched the versatile Gale from striker to centre back, moving Bowyer to full back, with an all Evans frontline.

The 30 minute delay to kick-off didn't effect Pembury and after 15 minutes Evans (Snr) scored with an excellent volley from just inside the 18 yard box, giving the keeper no chance. The home side were looking comfortable and it looked only a matter of time before a second goal arrived. Unfortunately, once again opportunities were not taken and after some poor team defending the away side had drawn level. The half finished 1-1, which was a fair reflection of the game so far.

The second half was a completely different story, as the visitors struggled for fitness from the very start of the second period. Pembury totally dominated, with the back five hardly touching the ball and both midfield & attack finally clicking in the final third of the pitch. Well worked goals from Ells (3), Leete (3), Evans (Jnr), a second for Evans (Snr) along with a Dormansland own goal secured the three points in style.

A strong team performance, converting chances they'd missed in previous weeks. Great result, well done!!
