Today's fixture was an excellent opportunity for Pembury to take full advantage of their games in hand & move up the table. With a strong squad at Pembury's disposal, the home side were well equipped for this double header.

Insulators Res 0 Vs Pembury 5

Team captain Leete was called up to the first team, and so Bowyer deservedly stepped into the role of leading the home team out. Pembury totally dominated both halves, and although Insulators had small periods of play they were very lucky the score-line did not reach double figures.

Marshall opened the scoring, shortly followed by a second assisted by Mearing. Full credit goes to Insulator's back five you were bombarded by shots & were always under threat from the pace of Pembury's front four. On the rare occasion Insulators posed a threat, Pembury's defence held strong, breaking the play & immediately switching to attack. Ten minutes before half time Mearing notched his first of the day giving the home side a 3-0 lead going into the break.

The first 10 minutes of the second half Insulators held their own, making it more of an even contest. However, this did not last for long & after some quick passing from the back through midfield, the play was then switched to Brooker who burst down the right flank. Eager for his hatrick Marshall saw the opportunity & made a late run into the box. Brooker looked up & knocked a perfect cross for the centre forward to meet with a bullet header, bulging the net.

Pembury continued to dictate the play and after some good work from Gunning, Mearing was put through on goal, before being brought down in the penalty area. Unfazed by the challenge, he placed the ball & converted it to make the final score-line Pembury 5 - Insulators 0. Job well done by all!!

A special mention needs to go to the Pembury back five who looked unstoppable whilst defending and at ease going forward. Macmillan's distribution was always a threat on the counter attack, with Bowyer, Hymers & Marsh regularly reverting to a back three allowing Washer to support the midfield.
