After several good performances over the last month or so, we put in one of our worst performances of the season on Saturday.
We started well, attacking down the hill on a slopping pitch. As we would have expected we dominated the opening 15 minutes, with the elements in our favour. Unfortunately we were unable to grab the lead and Langton began to come into the game for the first time. As an attacking force they were beginning to cause us problems and only an excellent goal-line clearance from man of the match Garry Knight kept the scores level. However this respite was short lived as the opposition cut through our midfield and defence to open the scoring. Our only joy was coming down our right unfortunately the nearest we came to an equaliser was when Matt sent one shot fizzing wide and another against the outside of the post. Just before half time Mark Wyles beat their keeper only to see the referee adjudge that the ball did not cross the line.
The second half started badly with slack defending leading to the opposition extending their lead within 2 minutes of the re-start. The rest of the half was played out and to be honest we were lucky that the score remained 2-0.
All in all an awful performance with virtually the whole side failing to perform. To make matters worse we seemed incapable of following the most basic instructions or perform fundamental functions associated to individual positions.
