Today we returned to league affairs hoping to pick up where we left off 3 weeks ago.
We had a good chat about what we wanted to achieve, out of the next 3 games, and how the league was wide open. However this seemed to not register at all, as after 5 mins we conceded from a corner, after some terrible defending. Sutton continued to play all the football, in between the ref, who was interrupting the game quite frequently.
They failed to convert this advantage into goals, and after about 30 mins we drew level from the penalty spot when Sargy converted after they hand balled in the box. We still looked disjointed but managed to take the lead before half time when, Alun Evans rose above everyone to nod home from a Woody corner.
We were fortunate to still be in the game let alone leading at half time.
The second half we came into it a bit more, and they seemed to run out of ideas a bit. We looked dangerous on the break, and were containing them at the back. The final goal of the game came with about 5 mins left. Woody sent in a free kick which was turned in by one of their players.
All in all a performance to forget, but a great result, and the fact our goals all came from set pieces, tells a story.
