The first of five games in fifteen days, saw us win away at Putlands.
It was not the best footballing spectacle either side have been involved in, but the points are all important now, as we aim to finish as high as possible.
We took the lead after about 20mins when the ball fell to Rob James, and he fired home from about 15 yards. However this did not settle us, and our play was still patchy. This resulted in them equalizing via the penalty spot on 35mins. Credit to the team that we responded by scoring again before half time, when Ellsy squeezed the ball home at the near post, from a tight angle.
The 2nd half was a similar affair, with us on top, but still lacking that bit of quality needed to kill the game off. They were creating half chances, and it looked like we may throw away two points, but with fifteen minutes to go, Ellsy wrapped it up with a well excuted lob over their keeper.
All in all a good 3 points, but there is definitely more quality within the team than we showed tonight.
