Woodstock 6-2 Pembury

After last weeks good result, we returned to Pembury this week with our pride a little dented after conceding 6 at Woodstock Park.

Anyone who watched the game would have seen us play some nice football, and probably be the better side for long periods of the game. But we cannot afford to give away soft goals where the opposition, are not having to do a great deal to score. I think this is down to a bit of inexperience within the side, as we had 5 teenagers and another 3 early 20s playing. However this is not an excuse, and as long as we learn from the mistakes we made, its not the end of the world.

On a positive note Woody was superb, and is hitting his best form of the season so far, Ashley produced some great saves again, and Ellsy who failed to score from 1 yard, smashed one in the top corner from 25 yards.

What was apparent today, was that the Saturday side of the club, still require players, who can come straight into the 1st team set up, and also players who for the reserves who will be able to push for places in the 1st team. As today when we had players out for various reasons we as a team were hurt badly.

Next week we have Platt who we must defeat, and keep pushing ourselves for as higher finish as possible.
