We notched up our 3rd defeat on the trot this week, but unlike the previous 2, there was plenty of positives to take from the game, against promotion bound Sutton.
We started well, and a slight personal switch, which saw Rob Cornish along side Lindo, with Sargy sweeping seemed to nullify their main threat, as Rob James was released to mark him. However they as a team were good, but we were creating chances and they were rattled as we approached half time. We got to the half 0-0, but there were some seriously tired players, who had given there all. We spoke about the need to concentrate, but as the tiredness sets in this is often the first thing to lapse. This was our undoing as they went 1-0 up after about an hour, via a simple knock down and shot. They doubled there lead with about 5 mins to go, a goal that I should have flagged offside, but I was consumed with what was happening elsewhere on the pitch.
However, we as a team played very well, and the performance is closer to where want to main to be on a more consistent basis.
We must take this into the remaining 5 fixtures, which are all winnable games.
