Our poor run of results continued this week against a well organised Staplehurst side.
After a relatively even opening 20 minutes of play, our Achilles heel of giving away a sloppy goal reared its head again.
Following an unchallenged header in the centre of the park, they broke, and found a player free at the far post, who finished neatly.
At half time we lost the services of Lindo and Dave Hymers, through injury. Which resulted in us having to field to untried players at this level.
After about an hour they got their second, this time their top scorer was left unopposed at the far post, and he nodded home.
This rattled us, and for about 10 minutes we battled, and challenged for everything, and created a few half chances. The saying "once the horse has bolted" comes to mind...
Towards the end they got a third, and it could have been more, apart from, some good saves and poor finishing.
A mention has to go to Liam who battled for 90 minutes, with a very suspect ankle.
Next week changes will have to be made if we have the personal available. This has been a problem so far this season, with no places being under threat by other players. This is not an excuse mind you.
I feel watching from the touch line, we still are not applying ourselves totally to the job, for 90 mins. Until we do so, we will continue to have poor results, whatever formation we play.
